10 Reasons Most Online Program And Course Launches Fail – Ep 41

There are many types of launches you can have, many ways to do it and many factors that go into a launch.

In this episode of the podcast, we review some of the main reasons launches fail.  Launching programs or services is something that typically happens when you plan a special campaign to help you achieve the sales goals you have for an offer – something you sell.

It doesn’t always have to be a new offer to have a launch.  It can be programs and services you currently have too – and maybe you just want a special promotion to boost sales.  It can even be a book you’ve written!

There are many types of launches you can have, many ways to do it and many factors that go into a launch. In this episode, I dive into the details on the top 10 reasons most online program launches fail and how you can avoid them.

Because at some stage in your practice or business, there will come a time when you are going to launch something … and I want you to know what to look for – the common factors from failed launches. So that you can plan to avoid them and boost your chances of seeing a successful launch.

You can listen in to this week’s podcast to get more details on the 10 reasons most online launches fail or review the list in detail on our transcript page

Make note of this list and the next time you are prepping to launch your THING, whatever it is, be sure to reference the list and learn what to avoid with your next Launch.

The Top 10 Reasons Launches Fail.

  1. Not having an offer people want.
  2. You don’t have enough leads.
  3. Don’t have a launch tool that appeals to your ideal clients.
  4. Setting goals that are not based on realistic numbers.
  5. Launching too often and tiring your audience.
  6. Not presenting your offer with an enticing Incentive to buy.
  7. Not starting your launch plans early enough.
  8. Timing – of many factors.
  9. Lack of support and resources.
  10. Not Following a Launch Plan that encompasses everything you need.

One other thing to think about… If you have had a launch that ”failed” I want you to remember something: It is not a failure if you learn from it. It’s a lesson.

If you learn nothing from it, then yes, it is a failure. But for most launches, you will see some success, some loss, some gains, some good stuff and some crappy stuff. Take the time to analyze what happened – review your post-launch numbers and analyze what happened and try to determine why so you can improve next time.

And for the record, most people have to do several launches before they find their groove and feel like they have had success. Even the big influencers who are seeing huge launch successes will tell you the same thing – it took time to learn and improve.
