Are you one of those private practice owners who avoids any type of goal setting and planning or don’t feel it’s helpful?
I get that, I was one of those people too. (I do have a blog called Goal Setting for the Goal Setting haters, like me! 🙂) But once I learned a system that made goal setting make sense and was easy to do, I saw a shift in my business – more clients and registrants in my programs – which meant more income! Funny how it works that way.
I know that a lot of podcasts, newsletter and blogs are all about goal setting this time of year but there is a reason for this.
People who focus time on setting goals and reviewing progress toward their goals see more success in their business and their lives.
In the last episode of the Marketing your Private Practice podcast, we talked about some tools to help you set goals so you can plan out your marketing to help reach those goals.
- Stats Tracking Sheet.
- Marketing Content Planner.
You can listen to episode 16 if you want to get the scoop on these two tools.
Today, we are going to go a little deeper and show you how I went from being a goal setting hater to someone who looks forward to setting my goals each year. I know there are lots of folks out there who are like I used to be, and you dismiss goal setting and planning as something that is not needed for success.
But I’m no longer in that group. I really do see the benefit of taking the time to do this and then reviewing them on a regular basis all through the year.
Part of the reason why I had a shift in mindset on this is from reading the book Atomic Habits by James Clear. In the book he talks about how achieving goals is not so much about the goals and setting them as it is about the systems you put in place to help you achieve them.
And I love systems – they help us do things more efficiently and effectively, and often that is the determining factor in getting results. That perspective helped a lot!
This is not to say goals are not worth setting. No way! They set your path and give you a place to go. The systems you put in place will be the ones to help you achieve those goals.
Getting to this place of comfort with goals was not an easy process though. It took many trials of systems and tools to get to this place and that’s why I share my systems and tools with others, because I know that sometimes all it takes is to hear about other ways people do things to spark an idea on what can work for you!
Today, we are going to cover a simple and easy 3 step system to Goal Setting Success so you can learn how to make goal setting simple and easy to do with the big benefit of more growth in your practice!
In this episode you will learn:
- A simple 3 step system to setting goals.
