Twitter Permissions

twitter updatesLast week Twitter announced an upgrade to permissions that will add more control and detailed permissions on what information you share with third party apps that you give access to your twitter account.

This has been done in order to give twitter users greater control on what these outside applications can access.  Sometimes these applications will send tweets on your behalf or even direct messages, knowing what you are giving permission for is important to the security of your twitter account. Always take a minute and read through what your are giving the application permission to do with your account.

The worrisome ones are the ones that you allow to make updates to your profile, so it is nice to see this more open permission process in place.  (Applications that want to do this, I never approve by the way as I have seen profiles have changes that were detrimental to the twitter user)
